Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Steel Fire System Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components, doors and screens used in fire protection systems. Your expertise in metalworking techniques and knowledge of fire systems and components, specifically Forster, is required. Attention to detail will ensure the production of high-quality fire protection products.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.
Use various tools and equipment, such as welders, saws, grinders etc to fabricate and shape metal components.
Follow established procedures to assemble and weld metal parts, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
Perform welding operations, such as MIG or TIG welding, to join metal parts according to project specifications.
Inspect fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards, making necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to discuss project requirements and provide input on design improvements.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and procedures throughout the fabrication process.
Maintain inventory of materials and supplies and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials.
Maintain and clean fabrication equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Metal Fire System Fabricator or similar role.
Previous experience fabricating steel systems such as Forster.
Proficiency in metalworking techniques, including cutting and welding.
Knowledge of fire protection system components and their assembly requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Skilled in using fabrication tools and equipment, such as saws and welders.
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy materials.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues.
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Employment Type & Compensation
Full-Time: Salary negotiable & experience-dependent.
This position is required for 38 hours a week
